The Department of Statistics Spring 2020 policies are given below.  We strongly advise our majors to discuss their plans of converting a required course for their major to P/F grading with their academic advisor.

Department of Statistics Spring 2020 Policies for P/F in Undergraduate Statistics Majors and Minors:

POLICY ON P/F COURSES FOR STATISTICS MAJORS (Applies to STATISTICS and MATHEMATICS-STATISTICS)

In addition to University and CLAS rules, any STAT courses taken as P/F during Spring 2020 can be used to satisfy a major requirement in the Department of Statistics, as long as they are approved to satisfy such requirements in a plan of study.

POLICY ON P/F COURSES FOR MATH MAJORS (Applies to all MATH majors, including MATHEMATICS-STATISTICS)

In addition to University and CLAS rules, any MATH courses taken as P/F during Spring 2020 can be used to satisfy a major requirement in the Department of Mathematics, as long as they are approved to satisfy such requirements in a plan of study, with the exception of MATH 2710/2710W and MATH 2142, which need to be taken for a letter grade if they are going to be used as a prerequisite for future courses requiring a grade in them of C or better.

POLICY ON P/F COURSES FOR THE STATISTICS MINOR

In addition to University and CLAS rules, of the courses approved for satisfying the minor in Statistics, a maximum of two courses (for a maximum of 7 credits) taken as P/F during Spring 2020 may be used to satisfy the minor in Statistics.
